The state of Georgia does participate in the Health Cost Utilization Project (HCUP). It was founded in 1929 and serves more than 170 hospitals in Georgia and promotes the health and welfare of the public for better hospital care. In the state of Georgia, it is called Georgia Hospital Association. Members are committed to improving institutional health care services and patient care. HCUP represents it members to Congress and the General Assembly and before the federal and state regulatory agencies.
