The assignment for unit four has asked that I write a paper outlining some of the key highlights and notable points about the profession that I have chosen to pursue. The more I study and review the career field of a Healthcare Administration, the more excited I get about the possibilities that potentially await me. There are many different types of work that a person could get into with this particular field, but I am going to focus mainly on the Healthcare Administrator field as it pertains to a hospital or clinic. This person will spend long hours in the office completing all types of paperwork for regulatory items and then after they leave the office, go to a community function and promote their organization.…

During this week’s assignment I found the interview of Dr. Allen Frances was very interesting. Being in the Human Services program here at SCC and wanting to become a social worker I have been told that I need to be familiar with the DSM-5. I definitely agree with him that normality is difficult to define and it has become a cultural concept rather than a medical concept. Dr. Allen Frances states that our society is already immersed in pill popping which I didn’t find surprising at all. My opinion and viewpoint towards this is I feel like sometimes people get diagnosed incorrectly but any easy solution to make someone feel better is by taking medications and switching them up if some aren’t working.…

Childcare Director Interview (My answers for these were taken from both past conversations I have had with the director as well as my cooperating teacher since the director was gone recently due to a family issue out of state. So, I am focusing mostly on the program’s newly expanding private school named Legacy Christian Academy which the kindergarten class I was with falls under because that’s where I was able to get most of my information.)…

For the informational interview I contacted a family friend Rebecca Gray Detling who is an executive sales manager with ICH Global LLC. I first just started off asking Rebecca on what she majored in college, how it prepared her for her job, what courses were the most valuable, and what class she wished she would have taken while in school. While in college Rebecca majored in physical therapy and had a minor in finance because she knew she wanted a future in the business field while helping out people in the medical field. Once out of college though she said that the most valuable class she took was a little of every class because with a career in the medical field, sales, and finance not one class is better than the other but a little of each class was extremely valuable.…
