In fact one of my mentors during this time would constantly challenge the class with the question: “What is the future for healthcare for those with disabilities, including mental-illness within diverse population in large metropolises, especial low-income communities? This question continued to resonate with me throughout my bachelor’s degree at the City College, Center for Worker Education. I began to turn my attention towards the health care and links to poverty.
