Boards are made up of successful leaders who offer strategic guidance, mission, and vision for the organization. Boards have numerous responsibilities: they oversee management, finances, and quality. They also set strategic direction, build community relationships, establish ethical standards, values, compliance, and hiring team (Arnwine, 2002). Since running a health care organization is a team sport, selecting the right management team is the main key. The board and the management team such as CEO and COO should work together to share a common understanding of the organization mission. Financial oversight is also an important job that boards are responsible for. It is the financial activities include approving financial plans, monitoring financial health, and ensuring appropriate financial controls; and their goal is to protect the community's assets (Arnwine, 2002).

The Board of Trustees are responsible for oversighting financial health and stability of the organization. Since patient safety and quality of patient care are major responsibilities in our organization, the Board of Trustees focus on providing staff and equipment for the facilities to deliver safe and high quality care to the patients served by the hospital. The vision and values of the health care organization is in the hands of the many dedicated individuals who are on the Board of Trustees. They represent the community by working together to monitors and seeks continuous improvement in the quality of care and services of the organization.
