Health care organizations strive to achieve better health, better care, manage scarce resources, enhance productivities, reduce workload and reduce costs; using health information technology while still preserving the privacy of the e-PHI. Thereafter, the implementation of any information system, it is of most importance that the health care organization has a continuous monitoring and evaluating of the system as well as routine support and maintenance.

The organization’s culture and leadership must encourage innovation and experimentation that are goal oriented with well-planned budgets, political protection and deliverables (Wager et al. 2013). Hence, the majority of attaining this sustainability and effeteness of the IT system is largely influenced by the organization’s approach to information technology governance; which should reflect on its strategic objectives, overall mission and values. The technical infrastructure should be a major priority since it is the core IT serving as the foundation for all applications. Therefore, safeguarding hardware requirements, backups, network specifications, security, disaster recovery, operating systems and mobile devices are running perfectly is crucial (Wager et al., 2013). Access to round the clock to IT administrators, support team, and technical trainers can promote the use of HIS.
Conclusion
health care organizations put forth a lot of trusts and investments to redesign care processes and strengthen their health information system (HIS) capabilities with the goal of achieving quality care lower costs. In order to do so sustainability of all systems must be maintained for its full effectiveness to the users.
