During the night I took vital sign of the patients, but one of the female resident viral signs were off the charts. I immediately reported my findings to the nurse however, the nurse did not pay much attention because the patient is on kidney dialysis, and her vital sign were always off. However in this scenario I didn’t agree with the nurse’s assessment so I decided to stay and look after the patent. With a few minutes, the female patient was experiencing a life threating shortness of breath and the patient ended up being taking to the emergency room. At the end of my shift me and the nurse I filled out an incident report. The nurse ended up being disciplined.
