Quality nursing and caring are synonymous with the delivery of compassionate and dignified care based on a mutual relationship between individuals founded on the principles of openness, honesty, trust and respect. Health care assistants’ role is to assist the nurse in caring the patients in their various needs. For delivering such individualised person centred care, the development of a unique partnership between the doctors, patients, nurses, carers.
In the partnership approach to caring for the patient a HCA should have the skills, competencies and knowledge to enable the delivery of high quality safe and reliable care. And should monitor the clients in their needs and report properly to the nurse.
