Physical therapy can make a positive difference in an individual's ability to live an active, healthy lifestyle. The services provided by physical therapists go far beyond that of just helping people recover; physical therapy is a tool that enables people to live active, comfortable, and healthy lifestyle while completing everyday tasks. Physical therapy also prevents injuries and provides patients with a feeling of hope. Increasing range of motion, decreasing pain, preventing injuries, and creating faith and hope are benefits of physical therapy, and each one allows individuals to live active and healthy lifestyles. Increasing a patient's range of motion is a vital part of his or her recovery, as well as his or her ability to carry out everyday tasks. An increased range of motion allows people to carry themselves with better posture, to move better-preventing further injury, and to decrease the amount of pain experienced. Patients with this kind of confidence are more likely to do things to enable them to live a more active and healthy lifestyle. When a patient sees that they are able do complete more physically demanding tasks, and that this is the first step in living a healthy lifestyle, they will be more inclined to change other aspects of their life- to become more healthy and active.     During the observation, I noted that because of the increased population of geriatric patients , the PT has to take into consideration about the physical ,cognitive and neurological status of these patients to ensure that dangerous accidents and injuries do not occur during the treatment session. In the skilled nursing facility most of the diagnosis I saw were fall, strokes ,arthritis ,osteoporosis, pain due to cancer ,dementia ,Alzheimer's and incontinence .
