The HBM is a psychological model of health behavior change aims to explain and predict health behaviors. This model has been used successfully in preventive health programs such as encouraging the use of condoms in preventing the sexual behavior that has a high risk of infection in the community, or using seatbelts, etc. The concepts of this model are “perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, cues of action and self-efficacy.” The concept of cues of action and self-efficacy was added later to “stimulate action” and solve the challenges of unhealthy behaviors such as overeating and smoking
