Growing up in a negative household or not having the support one needs, can develop some problems down the road. Throughout the chapters, we were slowly creating a family/friend tree. In this “tree” we discussed four people in our lives that have affected us in a way that is relevant to the chapter. For example, one section was on alcohol and drugs, the student would have had to discuss people in their lives who have contributed to their thoughts on and feelings on alcohol and drugs. Another external factor that can affect a person is drugs and alcohol. We learned a lot of information about many different drugs during out substance presentations. These external factors can have a huge impact on someone’s life, especially if one gets addicted to them. Social detriments are a huge external factor on someone’s life. During the year, we had a presentation on resiliency from the schools health center. The presentation showed our class what it means to be resilient and how to become resilient. Knowing how to be resilient can improve someone’s personal health awareness. The presentation made by the Mondanock crisis and violence prevention was about domestic abuse. This presentation was helpful when it comes to knowing about how to develop personal health awareness. It showed how to be able to tell if someone is in an abusive relationship or is abusive in their relationship. All of these groups that came into the class to talk gave very useful information about how to develop ones health
