Develop a plan for healthcare advocacy
After researching my local hospital, I found out that the healthcare issues affecting my local community are overweight, obesity and tobacco. Overweight or obesity is defined as a body mass index, usually rises the chances of dying from many illness, for example type 2 diabetes, stroke, coronary heart disease, hypertension, gallbladder disease and many more. The other issue affecting my community is Tobacco. Tobacco is one of the greatest avoidable cause of disease and early death in the United States. Tobacco use is now called "Tobacco dependence disease." Obesity is a complicated health matter to address. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which is home to more than 1.5 million residents, is tackling obesity (Community Profile: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). Obesity consequences from a mixture of reasons and causal factors, including individual influences such as behavior and genetics. Behaviors can include nutritional designs, physical activity, inactivity, medication use, and other introductions. Added contributing factors in our society contain the food and physical activity atmosphere, education and services, and food marketing and promotion. Also, reports on the success of programs that connect the schools with local farms, which can supply them with fresh produce, which can be add in the school menu or standard cafeteria salad bars. In the other hand, launch a public education initiative to inspire adults to quit with giving any help they need and make them quit for good. Remove secondhand smoke at more than 200 city-owned outdoor entertaining facilities, for example, in the playgrounds, swimming pools, and spread thousands of wallet-sized cards for public with information about smoking termination resources.
