Healing Hospital Research Paper

Nursing is compassionate care of other human-beings when they are sick. We are the work of God’s sacred work, by caring and loving others in times of needs. A healing hospital needs to have several components. These components includes basic needs from the patients and technology. When patients are admitted to the hospital, that becomes their home for the duration of the stay; therefore, it is vital that the hospital promote a “home” feeling for them to promote healing. The key components includes a quiet and stress free environment for patient to stay. Due to hospital’s busy workload, many patients are deprived of sleep and rest, which causes anxiety. Patients are constantly disturbed from rest for many small work, such as waking up in the middle of the night for blood draws, vital signs, house cleaning. The noises in the hospital is continuous that range from intercom, staffs, housekeeping, ect. These are the barriers that is preventing patients from getting adequate rest, which prevents healing. A healing hospital should incorporate new available technology into patient care; such as, providing nurses with wireless phones to be contacted when they are needed at the front desk, instead of paging all the rooms.
Privacy is another component that patients should provide for patients. Many hospital have shared rooms, where the room is constantly disturbed because staffs needs to work with their neighbor, or family and friends visits. Most of the time, health issues are discussed in the same room between staff and patient. This leads to privacy issues if the neighbor patient is able to hear what is being discussed. Sadly, the only barrier between the two patients is a curtain; therefore, private rooms should be implemented as standard for
