She was a social worker and now owns her own private practice. She is an amazing woman. She cares, not only about the foster kids but also about the volunteers. She is well organized and does her best to work with schedules. She picks the art projects and finds the supplies for them, all on her own. Collaborates efficiently while empowering others.

Yes, without a doubt! I started volunteering at Healing Hearts last year in 2015. The first thing I got asked in the interview was if I was willing to stay with them for the rest of the year at minimum. They didn’t want to introduce these kids to people who were just going to leave them. These kids need stability and that is exactly what Healing Hearts is. I agreed, but honestly once I met the kids, I knew that I would stay on for as long as I could. I wanted to be there for them, helping them deal with their big feelings. Healing Hearts has impacted my life for the better and I couldn’t imagine my life without it.

That may seem like a big statement, but you get hear about the horrific things these kids have gone/ are going through, and yet you also get to see them being happy, “normal” kids, it is life changing. You get to work with amazing women that really care for the wellbeing of these children. You form awesome bonds with the kids, especially being a college student they really look up to you for guidance. Mainly though you become a constant figure in their hectic lives that are constantly changing. They get to rely and open up to you because their loved ones usually aren’t there for them.
