How many years of school? When having a child, you may think the schooling part of it will be pretty easy, right? They go to preschool and then all the way through high school, not to much to worry. Well it’s not really that easy when you get down to it. Children should go to school programs before starting preschool such as Early Head Start (EHS) and Head Start (HS). Having your child go to an EHS or HS program before they go to preschool is beneficial to their development. If a child stays home with a daycare provider or even their mother until they begin preschool, they run the risk of being behind in school. Becoming overwhelmed with all of the things going on around them. Being in these programs can help them learn the things they may …show more content…
They offer a wide range of services that can help the child and their family. For the child, they help them develop early social and cognitive growth. Being around children that are their own age and in a new environment help them learn how to play next to a child and with a child. Which is a key way for kids to learn, since most preschools have a play based learning curriculum. With specifically designed play areas and writing projects there cognitive growth is occurring too. Both of these, social and cognitive growths will help them throughout the rest of their schooling and especially on testing. These programs don't only help the child, but they also greatly impact the parents. For the parents, they offer full days and half days, so the parents are not worried about trying to get their child multiple places during the day. EHS and HS are also very supportive of family functions which can be beneficial to any family. It gives them a way to be with their children, but also very cost efficient which is important to almost any family. Being in EHS or HS also jumpstarts families at home to start reading more and doing activities they may be in HS which bonds families
