Ferndale Head Start is a part of Ferndale Public Schools, a small first-tier district in the metro Detroit area. Our district has been a delegate agency of Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA) for over 40 years. Annually, we serve 66 students using a center-based program option. We have four classrooms, operating seven hours per day. A combination of breakfast, lunch, and snack is provided to all students four days per week. Two classrooms are Head Start/Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) blends and two are Head Start/Title I blends. The blending/braiding of these funds allows us to create a school day option to best meet the needs of our community, specifically, families that are; working, looking for full-time employment, or
