Head Contact Rule

As 2014 five of the countries 1.1 million high school football athletes have died from a cause of head or spinal injury. When a player is hit head on head with another player a concussion can occur. This is caused when the brain strikes the inner skull. When this action occurs extreme outcomes can happen. Long term incidents like MCI and CTE can develop and have an impact on the player for the rest of his life (“Impact”). Head to head contact has a lot of consequences. It can alter someone's life catastrophically for the worst. Football leaders everywhere should limit levels of contact and teach proper technique. Changing the rules of the game have prevented a lot of head and neck injury (“Reducing”).
Head injury can be increased in ways the player can control but normally doesn’t realize what they are doing wrong. Many players that are veterans to the game would hate to see the game change. The game of football is traditional and the idea of changing the head to head contact would take away the intenseness of the game. Also integrity plays an important factor is the counter argument of the head to head contact change. Fans and players except the player and the game to be strong. Taking out the rule would make the sport seem less of this (“New NFL”).
I think that changing the rule for head to head contact will overall decrease the risk of the injuries in football. Head to head contact has a lot of consequences. With this rule change factors involving players lowering their heads and leading with their hands will help prevention (“Targeting”). It can alter someone's life catastrophically for the worst.
