Canadian Student Left His GF After Winning the Jackpot. He Didn’t Think She Could Do This…
Fredericton, New Brunswick – The scandal at the University of Fredericton dormitory reminds a Shakespeare’s play. It’s hard to believe everything began with a very lucky “spin”.
“Jim Reynolds was probably the poorest student around the entire dorm,” Jim’s roommate Mark explains. “So it’s quite fair that it was he who hit the jackpot, but his further action seems immoral to me. Ann really loved him and anyone here can confirm it.”
The Daily Gleaner field reporter, Nick Ericsson went to the dorm to cover this dramatic love story.
Jim Reynolds is a silent and downcast young man. He feels enormous guilt for his ex-girlfriend’s attempt of poisoning herself with sleeping pills. Jim has been taking numerous jobs to pay for his education. That was a terrible time, because he was sucked completely every day. He was dating Ann Sharp for nine months. “She is an emotional person and her reactions may be are unpredictable. Yes, I made a big mistake breaking up with her on the day of this crazy spin, but it’s just a stupid coincidence, because I had realized we have no future together several weeks before.” Jim says.

In both history and modern-day society, there are many roles that women have been and are expected to play, such as the nurturing mother, doting wife, or submissive partner. These roles greatly influence the characterization of literary females by pressuring them into a kind of box that reduces their potential to become complex and well-rounded characters; instead, the presence of women is often trivialized within fiction to merely portray what is expected by society, creating a deficit of strong female characters who have individual personalities outside of their use to the plot. Zora Neale Hurston examines several of these roles through her book, Their Eyes Were Watching God, which follows a black woman, Janie, through her three marriages and her simultaneous personal self-discovery. While Janie begins her…
