These are all valid questions. many prospective fraternity members don't realize, and are not informed of what the pledging process and hazing will entail, because this information is hidden in secrecy by the brotherhood of the fraternity. Many hazing traditions involve alcohol. Alcohol is a common element in hazing. Drinking games can lead quickly to alcohol poisoning — especially when inexperienced, underage drinkers are served hard liquor (a few vodka bottles are easier to hide than a keg). Drunken new members hoping to impress upper-level students often do things they would consider too risky when sober.
