Noise may not seem like a great problem, but when it is excessive and loud it can cause health concerns. There are different sources of pollution which are industrialization, Poor Urban Planning, Social Planning, Social Events, Transportation, and Construction Activities. Noise pollution can cause hearing impairment, interference with spoken communication, sleep disturbance and have cardiovascular effects such as increase blood pressure and heart rate. Noise also has an effect on wildlife. Animals can experience hearing loss and it can cause upset navigation systems for underwater wildlife. Noise pollution can be prevented with the wearing of earplugs, noise cancellation devices and to sound proof your environment. Cerro de Pasco, Peru has a terrible lead problem. Due to the discovery of silver 500 years ago at this location, it started the mining industry. Any people who live in this area are exposed to lead. To separate the mine from the people is a fence that surrounds it. This does not help with the lead exposure and has effects on the people in this area. These effects include a lower IQ, seizures, organ dysfunction, premature death, headaches, nausea, and vomiting. Water plays a huge part in agriculture, domestic use and industry. There is a huge water demand due to the large population of people on earth and this will continue to increase as the population increases. There is a water scarcity problem in all over the world. Only 1 in 10 people have access to clean water. The quality of water in certain areas is horrendous and contains a lot of bacteria which lead to disease. Children are highly susceptible and continue to die from water related diseases in certain areas of the world. Water is a human right and access to clean water should be available to all people. Each presentation provided useful information. I feel that having each group present about a topic is more engaging for the students than only a lecture. It provided an opportunity for students to research and gain additional knowledge about a subject. Also it allowed students to be unique in the way they presented. I found this assignment useful and
