Critique of A research proposal on the title: “Financing share companies in Ethiopia: The law and the practice”
Before I proceed to evaluate every section of the proposal, it is better to have some comments on the sentence structure, grammatical usage and the use of footnotes. Under the proposal, there are complex and long sentences which are difficult to understand. Besides, there are also problem of grammatical usage like instead of using the future tense, he used past tenses in some part of the proposal. Moreover the footnotes are not written down as per the citation rules of Bahir dar university school of law We cannot find a footnote which includes what has to be included as per the guideline. A good research topic gives a clear and concise description of the scope and nature of the research, it has to be too short, it has to indicate the major variables or theoretical issues to be considered in the study. Besides, it has to be indicative of the target population. When I measure the topic at hand in light of the above parameters first the topic is too short and good, but when we come to the other parameters we cannot find indicative words whether the research is descriptive, correlational, experimental or not. Scope of the study
The scope of the study of a given research proposal has to be included under the research proposal part. It is important to delimit the where about as well as the what about of the research. But when we come to the research at hand there is no such delimitation.
11. Ethical consideration of the study
The research proposal at hand does not has the ethical consideration of the study. This is the other a big mistake not to have it. Ethical consideration is very important part of the research proposal in some discipline like law and medical science. Therefore the researcher was mistaken by ignoring it knowingly or unknowingly.
12. Overviews of sections.
A researcher is required to introduce his/her reader by introducing the the chapters or sections of their study. The writer of this proposal does not include the overview of the sections of this proposal rather left it; another big problem.
