Furthermore, after Dr. Arthur was done talking to me, he asked me to call the first patient, and they were two newborn babies “Identical twins”. He started with his daily routine to check parts of the babies’ bodies to make sure they were fine. Firstly, he checked the circumference of the babies’ head and as he was measuring the circumference of the babies’ head, he told me it is really significant to know the circumference of the baby. Separating twins before they are ready, it can stunt their social abilities, impair their learning, cause emotional trauma, and lead to behavioral problems. A study done by California State University, Northridge stated, “For example, when twins display pronounced behavior problems with one another at home or in preschool, parents recognize this to be a clear and practical reason to separate those individuals at least for a few hours a day while they are in school,” she said. “But the study’s primary conclusion is that, unless there is a compelling reason to separate twins, it is often best to keep them together, at least in kindergarten” (Chandler). Although they may not know it, birth order and siblings a person grows up with help shape their future for the rest of their lives. Sibling influences can determine what type of career person grows up to pursue, mental behavior and health, their personality, and even how responsible a person can be later on in life. The impact of a sibling can be subtle such as the order the children in a family were born, and how many year apart each one was from the other, to more overt impacts like future parenting skills and if an older sibling continues education when a parent dies. The way siblings shape each other is amazing and incredible. Oldest children are often thought of as bossy, reliable, organized, leaders, and perfectionists (Leman, 2009).…
