Since I was a child, I have always been interested in helping people, but how could I do that when I refused to talk unless it was mandatory? From my early elementary school memories, I can remember hating my teeth. Like most children, my teeth were crooked and weren’t a bright white, however, one of my front teeth protruded to the point where I was called a “vampire” and “beer opener”. Now looking back it’s funny, but, for the longest time, my teeth were one of my biggest insecurities. I would often beg my parents for braces, but they would also say, “Melinda you have to wait, not all of your baby teeth have fallen out yet”.
