Hate Vs Rebuke Essay

Improved Essays
Since the beginning of the creation of man there has been hate and rebuke. Mothers rebuke their children if they do wrong. A brother kills another brother because he has hatred for him. A president does something wrong and people are filled with so much hate that they start to riot and burn things, or someone commits a sin and the church rebukes that person. Many people mix hate and Rebuke. They don’t really know what the two words mean. For instance, some people believe Christians hate gay people. While that may be true to a very few, most Christians believe it is a sin like every other sin. They rebuke that sin, and some people take it as a hostile act. The difference between hate and rebuke is that hate is rebuke without love.

Although the process may take a little bit, in the book Hate is My Neighbor written by Tom Alibrandi and Bill Wassmuth you can see the spiral of injustice present in every major event. The spiral of injustice, a way to track hate crimes committed, can be seen in everything read in the first third of this novel, from the beating of the Puerto Rican boy to the death threats against Scott Wiley. One quote from this book shows how advanced the spiral has gotten, “The Puerto Rican boy went sprawling and crashed into the wooden barrier with his shoulder. The boy who had cross-checked him stood over him, kicking him in the ribs. ”(Alibrandi and Wassmuth 52)…

I hate being stationed on the planet of Zion. This barren wasteland is encompassed by swampy marshes, so we are afraid to wander outside of our outpost, and the only lifeforms we can see are ten to twenty feet long with sharp, jagged teeth. This must be hell, I think. “Come on!” shouted the commander.…

In the culture of 2015, there are many known hate groups which use the Bible to harm other people and to spread hate, which I will refer to as “Biblical Hatred.” The groups use scriptures and interpret their meaning into a message of hate. Some people see doing so, as a positive use of the Bible while others see scriptures used to promote hate as a negative use of the Bible. One way to determine who is right is to look at various meanings of commonly used passages, and then comparing these passages to other passages in the Bible to them to help create a fuller picture of whether “Biblical Hatred” is correct or wrong. To understand the different meanings of such scriptures and the ways people interpret scripture, we must first pick an area…

From my 22 short years on this planet, one thing has been clear to me and that is that there is a lot of hate that exists. People hate those that have different interests, different beliefs, different styles, different hobbies, different skin colors, and many other differences. People hate those that are different than them. As a white, Christian male, I have decided that I refuse to follow this. I refuse to hate.…

No matter what, every single day somebody is being judged and labeled. Whether or not a person is overweight, underweight, mentally challenged, we are all being judged. Furthermore, growing up in a conservative, white, Christian family, has taught me many things about how I am expected to act, as well as which actions are acceptable or unacceptable. My culture and religious views molded me into believing that it was acceptable to judge others and be intolerant of different groups of people. In my family, you were expected to wait until married to have sex, then it was appropriate to have a child.…

A hate-based society is common in the fictional novel 1984 by George Orwell and in our real world, a hate-based society is not an irrational idea. The idea of a hate-based society is founded on fear, power, and of course, hatred. I happen to believe that a society based off hatred and suffering can survive, but that does not mean I would want to live in that particularly shaped society such as Winston Smith did in 1984. In the novel 1984 by George Orwell, a character named O’brien says, “Old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love and justice.…

It’s October, warmer than your typical autumn weather, but that’s most likely from the years of carbon emitted into our atmosphere. It’s normal, we even make jokes about how nobody cares our environment is changing, even though it will cause the next great extinction. This is normal life for me. Every day I wake up and get to witness humans hate humans because their skins are a different color, I get to see humans treat money more valuable then thousands of other humans, and i also get to see and deal with the repercussions of my governments greed for oil. “It’s voter season son,” said my dad…
