Talking about tests, I absolutely positively hate teststhem. I can never remembered no matter how long or hard I studied, I study for each test that I have and stay up untiltill two o-clock2 in the morning each time and still forget. My mom only lets me watch an hour of TV tv then read the rest. I have read up to 700 page books but can’t finish them in 2 months, it takes about 3 months. In class, I never read aloudout loud because I hate reading in front of people. When I get nervous I start to stutter and cannot talk well or if I get like excited I stutter a bit because I think I am saying something but nothing really comes out of my mouth. For example when I meet new people I get a little shy and don’t talk much. I also do not do well with

“To be free, a man must be free of his brothers .” This quote is significant to Anthem because the brothers all just follow each other’s lead and they do not make any decisions for themselves. They are not able to pick what they do in their life or what they want to be. They are not really given the chance to think for themselves. The quote states To be free a man must be free of his brother, this is saying that if you take them all away from each other they are going to have to learn to do things on their own.…

Lastly, Duffy presents the theme of betrayal by the use of enjambment at the end of the poem. “Love’s Hate behind a white vail,” Love’s hate stands out the most to the audience because of the contrast between the two words, of being positive and negative at the same time. Thus causing the audience to feel confused with the speaker at the events that are unfolding within the poem. The enjambment within the line suggest how separate the two emotions are for the speaker as she battles with the contrast of emotions inside of her.…

Within the first few moments of the "The Shadow of Hate," it began with a parade of white hooded individuals expressing their hate against other races. Right from the start, I assumed this 40-minute documentary was going to pertain to the KKK, and their reign of terror on African Americans. Movies that related to my assumptions of what this video was going to withhold were; Glory Road, Coach Carter, and Remember the Titans. Prejudice and discrimination between whites and blacks was the major issue in society. But as the video continued, it appeared to display more than just racism between blacks and whites, but all races.…
