Through writing this essay, I learned about the effects of hate speech on college campuses, how colleges are attacking this problem, and what others think of this problem. The reading was very interesting and therefore made the essay much more enjoyable to write compared to others. Writing this essay taught me how to synthesize sources and form an argument effectively. Using tools such as “They Say, I Say” and notes taken in class, I formulated an argument using all the skills I have learned this past semester. But, there were still many flaws in my writing. Next time I write a synthesis essay I will attempt to be more specific in my writing, as that was a large weakness of mine. I need to be more specific about what the argument is about,
