Brian is a thirteen year old that has been in the Canadian wilderness for about four days. In those for days Brian has done everything in his power to survive. But he had no signal so there was no way to get rescued. So, if he made a fire and stacked wood on top of his shelter for a signal fire. He also had a small fire in his shelter for warmth to help. So if he heard a motor or saw a plane he would light the signal fire. Also he would wave a torch waving it in the air. Also he would scream hoping they would see the smoke or hear him.
