It's ok to say that being in the woods by yourself is no ones place to be.

In the book hatchet by Gary Paulsen Brain was on a plane and the pilot had a heart attack. So Brain tried to fly the plane but he failed. He crashed into the water and does not know where he is. Like Brain he survived by his self. I don't think i could survive that long, but i think i could survive for a few weeks.

The first reason why i could only survive for a few weeks is because of the water. Like the book said “ He was unbelievably thirsty.” on page 40. I would drink the water in the pond/lake but the water is dirty so i could get sick. And if i got sick i would not have any medicine to make me better. The second reason i could only stay alive for a few weeks

Hatchet Vs. A Cry In The Wild Hatchet does a better job of telling the story. This is because the amount of time spent at the lake and has more details and shows that Brian can get hurt and isn’t superhuman. Hatchet has imagery like the roaring plane and others which aren't quite as good as the ones you see in the movie. The book’s foreshadowing isn't quite as good as the films either.…

Paragraphs 8-12 contribute to the development of the story’s theme because the theme of the story is that you should never give up. These paragraphs describe that the hatchet is Brian’s key to survival because it could create fire. In the text it states, “He struck harder, a glancing blow, and two or three weak sparks skipped off the rock and died immediately.” This justifies the identified answer because the first few times that Brian tries to create fire, it doesn’t work.…
