Early Life: I was born on June 14 1928 in Rosario, Argentina. My family was a middle class family, however we lived an aristocratic lifestyle. As a boy I struggled with asthma and it was so severe that one asthma attack was fatal. This didn’t hold me back from doing sports or the things I love. I enjoyed playing rugby and swimming. When I was 18, I moved to Buenos Aires to take care of my sick grandmother, sadly she died shortly I began to care for her. Her death motivated me to become a doctor, my guilt of not being able to care for her. Thus, I studied medicine at Buenos Aires University. (Cosgrove)
Motorcycle diaries: Before I graduated Medical school, my good friend Alberto Granado who was studying to be a biochemist. I remember them telling me about their plan to overthrow the Batista regime in Cuba. They mentioned how they wanted to place communism in Cuba so that everyone will be equal. The idea intrigued me due to my strong belief in communism. I joined their rebellion not just to gain power, but to also help those who were suffering injustice. December 2nd marked the day that we arrived in Las Coloradas, Cuba. However, when we arrived we were ambushed by Batista’s troops leaving many of our men killed and myself wounded in the chest and neck. Though it seemed that our movement failed, we didn’t give up. Fidel and I fought until that coward of Batista and his family left Havana in 1959, giving us complete power over Havana (Cuba’s capital) and eventually all of Cuba. ("Che Guevara Military
