Hassan's Suicide Letter

Decent Essays
To my dearest friend Hassan, It’s been quite some time hasn’t it? But even as the years go by, I can never forget what I did to you all those years ago. And, even though my written words may not have much meaning, I’m sorry, truly sorry for everything I did to you back then. I’m sorry for being too afraid to help you when you were getting raped by that bastard Assef. I’m sorry that the guilt made me question our friendship, and for all the times before that incident that I did. I’m sorry for putting those gifts on your bed, even though I truly believe you deserved those things more than I did. And lastly, I’m sorry for not standing up for you when Ali decided to leave. It was the first time I have ever seen my father cry. Life in America

“I have it good, very good, and I'm grateful, but since the age of seven, I've become hateful towards all humans in general. Only because it seems so easy for people to get along that have empathy. Only because I love and feel sorry for people too much I guess.” The excerpt from Kurt Cobain’s suicide note shows just how reflective his final statement really was.
