With social media’s influence on the world today many young adults and elders are able to communicate via Email, Facebook, and Twitter. All ages were able to see and discuss the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. This redundant shooting opened the eye to many black Americans, all wondering do black lives really matter in America. The movement of Black Lives Matter grew tremendously with supports and social activist. Facebook raged with millions of people heated posting and conversing about black lives history and the current events of black lives being victimized and attacked. With the help of Twitter and Facebook I was hyped to the crimes against the black community in other locations. Nonetheless, this attack on the lives of black Americans was happening in my very own community as well. For simple situations black lives where being over aggressively handled by police officers on duty. Groups of black Americans playing basketball late night being hassled and removed from local parks and neighborhoods. Police officers seeing the need to hand cuff every black individual that was in the car because of simple incidents such as not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. These hated actions toward my black community was and is a huge question to many of the black lives that resided there. Social media gave the community a way to collaborate just as Gladwell stated. Parents, students, and local neighborhood leaders understood the movement and join as well. Walking around with t-shirts stamped hashtag Black Lives Matter and group sponsored events for the discussion of what can be done in honor that black lives matter. The movement brought peace of mind to many young adults in my community where if the police brutality things was to happen that social media would be educated. And the people and the black community could come together to make a
