In 1923, 3 brothers, Henry, Hilal, and Herman Hassenfeld, who just emigrate from Poland started by selling cloth leftovers in Providence, Rhode Island. The same year, Merrill Hassenfeld, the son of Henry Hassenfeld takes the full control of the family business. In 1964 Hassenfeld Brothers had the idea to create a new type of toy. After Mattel starts producing ‘’Barbie’’, they wanted to create it own concept: a doll for boys. So it produces its still classic ‘’G.I. Joe’’, an articulated action figure, which was design like the U.S. Marine Corps. This figure was so successful that in the first 2 years after its introduction ‘’G.I.
