Has math always been difficult to me? Well to me it has always been an okay subject because it was not hard back then. Although I did struggle a little bit but not that much because I would sometimes get confused. Iv'e always worked really hard on it in order to understand it. I did not struggle in middle school with math, I actually got a pretty good score at the end of the year during 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. It was not hard for me because I payed attention and the teacher gave clear instructions on how to do it. Also I loved the way she taught during 7th and 8th grade year because her handwriting was clear and it was so easy to solve every question with the clear explanations. Sitting in a hard plastic chair in my math class I felt paralyzed. The heat in the room was unimaginable on the cool autumn day. I could not be the only one that was feeling it. At the same time I could barely keep head straight as the math test stared back at me with harsh eyes telling me “you will never be able to pass this class,” in a slithering tone. A drop of sweat rolled down the side of my face.…

I almost had a heart attack when I received my math test with a big fat red F on top of it. It was the third F I've gotten alone in just math class. I was good in the other subjects such as, physical education, science, and reading. The only thing that I had trouble with was math, I hated math and I didn't understand a single thing that was happening when she taught a certain subject. I was going to have to do summer school if I didn’t get my grade up, and I already had my vacation planned out.…

The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are probably the biggest thing to hit public education in the United States in recent years (Neuman & Roskos, 2013). Common Core has left one group largely in the dark; parents (Neuman & Roskos, 2013). Only forty-five percent of public school parents had heard of Common Core (Obrien, 2014). This is only hearing about it, and does not include understanding what it is. Since parents do not understand Common Core, they have a lot of misunderstandings.…

If I just read the assigned chapter in economics and couldn't remember what I just read, then I would need to make sure that I understand what exactly I just read. Also, try and convince myself that the material that I am learning is important and also try to find something interesting. This is two examples of things I could do from the book. I'm not exactly sure on what a reflection is, I think it means what I would I am not positive on that, though. My childhood memories regarding learning mathematics has been for the most part positive from 6th grade onwards. From 1st grade to 5th grade I was not conscientious so at times math tests produced anxiety but math was, at the same time, easier and simpler back then. I recall being the fastest person to state the multiplication tables in 4th grade. During 6th to 8th grade, although I was not necessarily the smartest, I landed at the top of the class in advance math since I was very hard working. However in 9th grade I recalled a horrific incident.…
