There were plenty of mistakes to go around in the Harvard cheating scandal. However, the ultimate responsibility lies with the students who are the ones who bear the consequences of their actions. The exam clearly explained that “students may not discuss the exam with others.” (Mintz, p. 42) This would include working with other students, the teaching assistants, other tutors, etc. The fact that some students had identical answers clearly shows they were working together.
