Hiroshima was originally a fishing village, but then grew into one of japan’s biggest and most major cities at that time. Since Hiroshima was originally a small fishing village it grew because the area it was located proved to be a very good place for many types of jobs. Hiroshima had become one of the best automobile developers, and built great ships ,and the people who lived there were good metal workers. On the date of Aug 6, 1945 Enola gay had dropped the first nuclear bomb in history in warfare. An estimated amount of 140,000 people had died or since died due to the effects of the bomb’s radiation. Enola gay was built in Omaha, Nebraska ,and then was shipped to guam to get fitted with the right equipment to drop the atomic bomb.
Harry s. Truman had decided to use the atomic bomb, but with that decision came much criticism. Harry did not want to invade japan because that would mean he would have to sacrifice many of the Allied forces men for no reason. Since the atomic bomb was dropped the Allied forces did not even lose one man during that operation. There were rumors that Japan might of surrendered even if the atomic bomb was not used.
