Harry T. Moore was born on November 18, 1905, in Houston Florida on a small farming community. Harry was the only child of Johnny and Rosa Moore. In 1914 Harry’s father died due to poor health conditions which left his mother on her own to raise a child. Rosa later then tried to support her son alone, working in cotton fields and running her store on the weekends. Then in 1915, Harry was sent to live with one of Rosa’s sisters in Daytona Beach. This lasted no longer than a year when suddenly Harry was moved to Jacksonville Florida, where he spent the next three years with three of his there aunts: Jesse, Adrianna and Masie Tyson.
