Truman faced was with the United States soldiers. Harry S. Truman had to make a choice whether he wanted to send troops to Japan or drop the atomic bombs on Japans blockade. Fatigue played a major role in why Harry S. Truman didn’t want to send the troops to Japan. The United States troops had just finished fighting the Germany army (Nazis). The hardship that the United States army faced during their fight with the Nazis in Germany was very difficult. Finances also played a huge role in the American army going over to Japan and fighting in World War I. It is very expensive to fund a war where you have to go to another country to fight a war. The non-violent way consented of a safe less expensive way of getting Japan to surrender. They would simple advise Japan that surrendering would eventually save their countries in a lot of different aspects. That was the number one plan and the one Harry S Truman was hoping they would choose. Plan number two consented of a project called “Manhattan Project”. The Manhattan Project plan consisted of lots of mass destruction and lots of lives lost. This was the plan that would for sure make the Japan surrender because it would destroy and eliminate Japan. It would make Japan to where they have to rebuild financially and they would have to worry about the health of their people instead of them retaliating on the United States. This plan is costly and very dangerous to both. There were a lot of questions about this plan. Like when they are in route would Japan be ready to surrender or when they are dropping the bomb would it be too late for Japan to go peacefully. Would taking innocent lives be the best thing to do?
