Harry Potter Hero

I believe that Harry Potter fulfills 9 out of 10 elements of the hero as presented by Otto Rank. Harry Potter's biological parents are James and Lily Potter so we can omit the assumption that his mother was a virgin with supernatural conception. In the last Harry Potter series, he was successful on defeating Lord Voldermort at the expense of his two father-figures, Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape. A father or a father figure has big influence on his son. Lord Voldermort in a way can be described as his negative father figure because he influenced him as such that molded him to what he is now. He made him stronger than ever by forcing him to undergo in dangerous journeys that might end Harry's life. If he didn't experience the pain in the hands of Lord Voldermort, then he would not gain the power and courage to ultimately defeat him on the end. Harry Potter had a humble beginning and become a hero later on. He was mistreated and abused by his relatives who took him in when his parents died. He later become one of the finest wizard Hogwart's ever have and vanquished the evil wizard, Lord Voldemort. Harry Potter is a journey to find himself by going through different challenges and adventures. Harry Potter's story is an interesting one. The characters are more realistic compare to Prosse Edda and Gilgamesh. I believe that we are drawn to the story because we can relate to the story easily. For example, Harry is one of Voldemort's horcrux because of the fragment of his soul within Harry when he died trying to kill him. Harry Potter is a good natured boy but that evil fragment causes impurities within himelf. We as a human being are far from being perfect as well just like Harry. We all have fragment of impurities just like Harry. If we are aware of our weakness then only we can find a way to deal with
