Harry knows that someone is attempting to steal the Sorcerer’s Stone but he thinks it is Snape (Rowling 220). When Harry makes it past all the obstacles leading to the stone, he is surprised by who is already in the underground chamber where the stone lies, this person was Professor Quirrell (Rowling 228). Quirrell wears a turban on his head and has a bad stutter. He is trying to look into the mirror, which shows the person standing in front of it the most desired thing in life, to find the Sorcerer’s Stone, and he cannot figure out how to get it. Harry, on the other hand, looks into the mirror and the stone magically lands in his pocket (Rowling 292). Quirrell then tries to kill Harry and steal the stone. In the book, it says that when harry touched him it makes boils and burns on Quirrell, but the movie shows that his skin turns to ashes and Quirrell dies and Voldemort, as a spirit, flies off (Rowling 295).
The book and the film may have a few differences, but both are wonderful. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is still being read and watched by children and even adults everywhere. Why the movie does not include some of these major details, people do not know for sure. The Harry Potter series is still a big hit, both movie and film. Will J.K. Rowling write a new book and demand that all her details be in there this time or will the filmmakers continue to leave out details to keep people
