Spoiler Alert...Obliviate! On September, 1997, the magic was born. J.K Rowling had just published the book ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’. It was an instant success as children, teens, adults, and the elderly loved the magical world of Hogwarts and following Harry Potter on his adventure. Then on November 16th, 2001, the magic was literally brought to life as it came out as a movie. There were so many mixed emotions from people. Some loved seeing it come to life and some wished it would just stayed a book series. The people who were against the movies most likely had a problem with the actors who portrayed their favorite characters or were upset about details taken out of the movie. Everyone has different opinions on whether they think reading the books and letting it be your interpretation or watching the movies and letting it show you exactly how the story goes. In ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’, there are a few key differences between the books and the movies. At the beginning of the story, Harry and the Dursley’s go to the zoo for Harry’s cousin’s birthday. Harry hears whispering and realized that he can talk parseltongue which means he can speak to snakes. In the book, the snake he speaks to is a Boa Constrictor while in the film it is a Burmese Python. To add, at Hogwarts there are four different houses the first years are sorted into. This sorting is done by the Sorting Hat. In the books, the Sorting Hat opens up the ceremony with a rhyming song…
