Both Katniss and Harry have suffered many losses in thier life, yet they still triumphed in the end, which is heroic. Katniss lost her dad at a very young age, ten-elevenish, yet as her mother and sister sat deep in depression and grief, she went and provided for the family. She did not let the loss bring her down, she became her familiy’s only source of food, she hunted in the woods daily to make sure her family had food, which to me is heroic, to be providing for your whole family, at the age of eleven, she picked her family up after her fathers death, brushed them off and fed them, which is very heroic. In comparison, Harry lost his parents as a baby, and was forced to live with his strict, Aunt and Uncle, who positively adored their son, Dudley, and absolutley loathed Harry, and were dead-set in thier ways to keep him locked up, yet Harry lived his life as a wizard proudly, and reads his books and studies, he keeps his things hidden away, these are all things he does to not let Petunia (Aunt), and Vernon (Uncle), bring him down, which is heroic. In addition, later in life Harry loses Dumbeldore, who over the six years Harry knows him becomes his mentor, teaching him and mentoring him, and even Harrys friend. When Harry loses him, he is determined not to dwell on it he stays and continues his mission of defeating Voldemort and the horcruxes (Objects that hold a piece of your soul) by himself. He didn’t just stop to mourn, he keeps going and defeats Voldemort in the end. These are reasons I think Katniss and Harry did not let their losses hold them back, or tear them down which is a heroic thing to
