Harry Houdini Project

Long ago I demonstrated grit during my Harry Houdini biography. Being in class sharing the information I gathered on the Harry Houdini project. Sharing in front of my class, but also in front of my own parents. The moment I concluded with the reading of my biography out loud my father stood up, “You should do a magic trick,” said my dad. That moment I was in full panic mode because I did not practice a magic trick. I was going to have to make up a magic trick on the spot so I calmed down and asked my dad if he had any cents. I was very nervous at this point because I had no clue what to do. I was trying to unhook the button in my sleeves because I thought that I could slip it in there. Then show it was missing pull it back out and show them.

During today’s lesson in Mr. Green’s class, I learned that life is just like a Rubik’s Cube. If you continue to take the wrong turns in life you’ll end up becoming a mess. I found this lesson to be very deep because if I really think about it, I’ve made a few “wrong turns” that I still regret. If I didn’t do projects last minute and if I actually studied for tests, I would’ve gotten better grades. If I weren’t so distracted from my phone or TV, I probably would’ve reached my full potential.…

Subsequently, through the skills that I have acquired in my life, I know how more success I am. Back to high school days-when I had to do speeches, the difficult part was when you have to stand up and speak loud. At first, I was a very shy person, and my speeches were so bad because I used to get scared, especially when I used to stand up in front of all the class; most of my speeches went like that. However, we had a speech where you have to talk about twenty-two minutes and stand up in front of all the students. This exemplifies that I have to work hard in order to be good at doing the presentation.…
