Harry and Sally initially met on a road trip from Chicago to New York. There was no indication of a relationship forming. Over coffee, they discussed the trials and tribulations that they experienced in their personal relationships over the years and they both were now single. To Sally, it seemed that Harry had changed his position on platonic relationships and following the conversation at the coffee shop, they began building a friendship.
They went shopping together, had dinners and long phone conversations on various things, such as movies they enjoyed and feelings they were having. They cried together and laughed together and during this time they became great friends. Together they decided to introduce the other to each of their best friends, Marie and Jess, hoping to find a compatible match for one another.
Marie and Jess ended up being attracted to each other, which left Harry and Sally, once again as single friends.
