We have went to war many times to uphold the right that everyone to be equal. Many men and women have died to help ensure that the equality is at the forefront of humanity. In Kirk Vonnegut short story Harrison Bergeron and the adapted movie 2081 it gives us a glimpse into what society may be like if we let an idea like equality grow out of control.The short story Harrison Bergeron and the movie 2081 are similar in content but have some major differences that change the vision of the original story. The stories are both set in the future were laws have been put into place to make citizens equal by placing limitations on people with superior abilities. The main characters of the story pretty much are the same in both stories but for a few minor character changes. In the movie he was given what look like handicappers similar to what everyone else was wearing with exception of a stock like looking thing. The handicappers described in the story were much more primitive and over excessive over 300 pounds of scrap metal hanging off of his body. In the story it talks about how handicapper general try to change Harrison 's good looks by shaving off his eyebrows and giving him a clown nose but the movie never makes reference to the humiliating way they tried to hinder his
