Harriet Tubman A Hero Essay

Imagine a world where we still have slavery and we had people who were forced to work because of the color of their skin. Harriet tubman grew up a slave, while she was a slave she was beaten. As soon as she got out of slavery she had decided she did not want the future generations to go through the same. She decided to go into the army and become a nurse and a spy, she did this because she knew land and she wanted to help end the war. Harriet Tubman proves herself to be a hero by saving thousand of people from slavery, serving in the war and maintaining hope when times are hard.

Harriet is mostly known for he job in the underground railroad saving thousands of slaves. One of her most famous quotes was “I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they were slaves - Harriet Tubman”. This quote shows that she helped many people. She thinks that through the underground railroad she could have saved many more if they knew that they were slaves. Harriet Tubman help end the civil war by spying on the enemy. While harriet Tubman was a scout she was very good at it because she knew land very well she was able to escort scouts across the land. Harriet Tubman also was a spy in the war which ended up helping to end it .
