A graphical representation can give an elaborate and vivid description that text cannot. One representation on the tapestry can replace many words. In addition to that, by using only a few and simple text, the artists narrate the story using the artwork. Had the story been written in words, it would have appeared as a tale and not a narration of actual events.

Queen Edith was the sister of Harold and the queen of England. As a result, her loyalty would lie with her family and England. Queen Edith became adviser and friend to William because she wanted to keep her wealth and maintain her social status. If she was responsible for the artwork, it would not have been this highly biased towards the Normans.
A Miraculous Reliquary
1. Bernard states that when he first saw the statue of Saint Faith he saw superstition and a vestige of the cult of demons. He also stated how he mocked the statue by saying it looked like an idol that Jupiter or Mars would be happy with.
Idolatry was the main theme in pagan belief, and at first glance, the Reliquary of saint faith was a statue made of gold and stone with a humanly expression. For a man of faith, the Reliquary of Saint Faith would not be considered a statue. However, for a simple man like Bernard, it may appear as an
