Harn Museum

I went to the Harn Museum at UF. I had an overall positive impression of the museum. The museum was kept exceptionally clean. There were gardens through glass in multiple places which was a nice touch. The museum was not busy the day I went, but if it was there would have been enough room for everyone to move around. The lighting was good and sensors were set up to warn security if someone was getting to close. It was free admission so not having to pay anything was nice. The people up front were friendly and asked people if they needed anything and handed out maps of the museum. I was surprised at how new most of the paintings were as most of the art was from the 20th century. Pictures were allowed but no flash photography unless it stated no pictures in a certain exhibit. Almost every single piece of art had an explanation to go along with it. It gave the artist’s background and little tidbits on the art. It consisted of around thirty or more paintings and a few sculptures. This exhibit had art from the late 19th century, to the 20th century. Many of the paintings used vibrant colors but a few used a darker tone. The sculptures did not stand out to much to me but were quality pieces. Some of the paintings were abstract in this exhibit, but the paintings which stood out the most to me were the landscape paintings. The museum seemed to enforce the idea that many of these paintings were from foreign artist. The paintings were all beautiful and I enjoyed this exhibit a
