My 2009 Harley Davidson Road Glide is my passion with it’s 96 cubic inch engine, bright orange color, loud exhaust, contours and curves. Although I see it everyday sitting in the garage, a smile comes to my face when I see it. When I hear the engine roar to life a feeling of excitement comes over me. When I twist the throttle, feeling the power through my whole body as the motorcycle surges forward; a smile from ear to ear. When I get to the open road my mind is at ease, since all of the normal distractions in life are gone. No cell phones, radios, facebook here, just me and my thoughts. By the end of a long ride my body is relaxed, my mind is at ease. A long ride is better than any therapist in my opinion. A sense of camaraderie exists

He joined the staff a little over a year ago with little experience and knowledge about horses and the therapies offered, yet he is well informed about the horses, the therapies offered, and populations that are served. Michael presented the information about the organization by showing a video, presenting the functions and the therapies offered through PowerPoint, and sharing successful therapeutic stories. The stories were genuine and provided several viewpoints to see the effectiveness of the organization. Michael presented well, the only area I would like to have known more about is, the history behind the organization and therapeutic techniques.…

The gentle enquiring tickle of a nostril can produce the hint of a smile in the most disabled child. Jones (1983) suggests that the horse is a symbol of ‘human spirit and freedom’.”…

I believe that everyone has at least one childhood event that remains etched in their memory as they grow up. One of my clearest memories growing up is the first time I fell of a horse. I can still picture the scene in my head, starting with the horse spooking and running towards the fence, to the point where I fell off and could see the hooves right above my head. As a six-year-old child this fall should have scared me from riding a horse again, however it ended up having the opposite effect. It made me love this sport, and I was determined to continue riding, despite the reluctance of my parents.…

Looking very easy and enjoyable for my dad to drive to our destination, our yearly family trip wasn’t just around the corner it was hundreds and hundreds of never ending miles away. It took us about twenty hours every time. Twenty hours of sitting in the same spot did not go very fast for the ones around especially when being anxious to arrive to your destination and see your family eagerly waiting for you to arrive. It seemed like I was the only one who felt excited from the moment my father would start the engine, enjoying seeing the things I didn’t see every day, statues caught my attention…
