I agree with Harlan Coben because the internet can be dangerous if not careful . The proper way that I think would be most effective would be just tell your teens to look out for certain things that may be dangerous. Also if you are planning on spying on your kids at least advise them you are doing so , because that would be wrong to invade their privacy. In Cobbins argumentative / persuasive essay , his argument was similar to mine because he supports the the fact of spying but also defended the privacy of teens. For instance if your teen is just surfing the web un monitored they may meet a stranger that might want to kidnap them or do other things to them. But if you are monitoring them that may not happen because they know that you are watching and that you could stop that interaction with them and the stranger right away that may also show that you care about them and love them by being worried for and about them. Finally the effect of monitoring your teens will show greatly by reducing their chances of getting into trouble. Due to our highly concentrated internet revolved society when you go on the internet their is no real privacy even when you think there is. By monitoring their internet use you will warm them up to the fact that internet privacy is not real anymore because of how modern and advanced our world has become.
