Parents cannot be trusted when watching over a teen’s texting site. They can look at you profile and see the people you talk to and things you say. It’s none of their business, why should the parents be able to spy on what teens do. Most teens do go and see what they post daily or who their friends are. You may argue that the Internet creates an unsafe environment, but it can be argued that it is a great learning tool. The Internet is filled with valuable information. In the article ‘‘Undercover Parent’’, Harlan Coben discusses how most parents won’t even consider putting spyware on their child’s computer. From my point of view parents should put spyware on their child’s computer. Some parents will say that it’s better to use parental blocks that deny access to risky sites. Coben’s claim in the article, “Undercover Parent” is that parents should monitor what their child is doing on the computer. I also agree with Coben because I believe that parents should put spyware on their child’s use of the internet. I agree because spyware can be used to keep your child safe and away from the dangers that are in the internet. Spyware can be put into your child’s internet by downloading the software from a vendor and then you will receive the reports on what they do. Spyware should be put into child’s internet use because you never know what your child could be doing.…

If you are reading this article and you are the parent of a teenager, you probably went to high school from the late 70's through the early 90's. Even for those of you who finished school in the 90's, communication was a major problem in those days. The internet didn't even start getting popular until the mid to late 90's, and cellphones didn't become popular until the late 90's or maybe even 2000. To say that being discreet was hard to do in those days would be a major understatement. There are many dangers on the internet that parents might not know of. Such as, someone faking their identity and pretending to be the teens age when they’re not. Also there’s a less chance of a teen getting into trouble by monitoring them online. Lastly teens may think they have privacy on the internet when there really isn’t any.…

Would you spy on your child? Spy is a harsh word, right? Yet so many parents do this in order to get to know and understand their child more. Many parents have these “security software” on their children's computers, basically it allows them to see their child’s every move. I believe that parent’s shouldn’t do this because if the only way they can find out about what's happening in their child’s life is through spying on them, then they need to improve their relationship.…
