Harlan Coben The Undercover Parent

Would you spy on your children with spyware? In the story “The Undercover Parent” Harlan Coben’s argues that parents should monitor their children with spyware. Spyware is a software downloaded to receive information and data from another's computer. I agree with Coben that parents should monitor their children. However, I disagree that parent should use spyware to do it. I believe that when parents use spyware it is a huge invasion of privacy. You are seeing your child's inner thoughts and what they are saying to others. I think parents can monitor their children by putting web page blockers on their computers they should also talk to them about the dangers of the internet. Parents should ask questions when their child goes out or they should pick them up and drop them off to confirm what their child said is true. I agree with coben because parents should make sure they aren't being bullied, they not being the bully, or they aren't doing things they aren't supposed to.

For example when a child wants to go out you should ask where they are going and who they are going to with. Parents even should drop off their kids and pick them up. They should drop them off just to confirm what their child said was true. They should pick them up tom make sure their child stayed where they said they were going, Parents should eve call there kids when they are at they went to just to check in on them.
